Computer-linked Gait Scanning is a powerful assessment tool that we utilize to properly diagnose various foot conditions. Through the use of computerized gait analysis, our patients simply step onto a computer-linked, pressure sensitive mat that contains over 4,000 sensors for scanning and foot pressure mapping. The detailed graphic report that is generated helps us analyze and then prescribe the best treatment solutions that might include a pair of custom orthotics or in other instances, a surgical repair. By utilizing the Gait Scan we can discover even discretely abnormal movements that trigger high levels of stress in joints and muscles which, oftentimes, lead to injury. Through the use of custom orthotics, these abnormal movements can be minimized and allow our patients to continue being active well into their later years.
